NEILLSVILLE, Wis. (AP) — A snowmobile trail and ice fishing on a Jackson County lake is closed because of unsafe ice conditions.
Operators of the Hatfield dam will begin drawing down Lake Arbutus Tuesday because of an equipment failure at the dam. Jackson County Emergency Management coordinator Kristina Page says anglers have been asked to remove fishing shanties because the ice will be extremely unsafe once the drawdown starts.
The snowmobile trail across the lake is being rerouted, as well as other snowmobile crossings, including the Black River crossing at Black River Falls.
